Click Click Click Flash: Antoine Bootz
Even though photo styling is the little-known art of controlling and manipulating contents in a photograph to create a stunning image; there is a lot of work and many people involved in producing effective photographs. However, without Photographers there would be no photos, so their role is of utmost importance.
I have yet to work on an actual interiors shoot but my assumption is that the collaboration between the architectural/interior photographer and stylist must be a rich exchange of creative ideas. They must have an understanding of each other’s vision as well as mutual respect and admiration for one another's work, in order to produce adequate results.
Today, I am featuring French photographer, Antoine Bootz because without people like him the role of a photo stylist would be irrelevant. After studying at The Sorbonne, Antoine moved to New York City in 1981 to pursue a career in commercial photography. He has been a successful contributing photographer to Elle Décor, Martha Stewart Living, Vogue Direction, The New York Times Magazine & Metropolitan Home, ever since.
